The following local organisations provide advice on a range of different issues.

Stockport Local Advice Centres

You can visit a local advice centre to get help with online benefit applications, money matters and other Council services.

There are ten Stockport Local Direct Centres around the borough. Visit the Council website to find your nearest centre.

Citizens Advice Stockport 

Citizens Advice Stockport offers free, confidential, independent and impartial advice and information to Stockport residents.

They can give advice on:

  • Money, debt and benefits
  • Consumer issues
  • Housing
  • Legal matters and your rights
  • Healthcare
  • Employment issues
  • Immigration issues
  • Relationship, family and personal matters

The Prevention Alliance (Stockport TPA)

The Prevention Alliance provides proactive and early support for anyone who is vulnerable due to their health, wellbeing or situation, and need some help and advice to make a change in their life.
