Communication support for face to face meetings

If you have a meeting or appointment with a member of staff from Adult Social care and you need a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter, or another form of communication support, please let us know and we will make sure that this is booked in advance.

Deaf Duty drop in

If you are Deaf and use British Sign Language you can get support from Stockport TPA who are based in central Stockport. The Deaf Duty drop in is on a Wednesday morning from 9:30am to 3.30pm and there is a support worker and BSL interpreter at these sessions. The sessions run on a ‘first come, first served’ basis so you don’t need to make an appointment. The TPA can support you with lots of things like benefits, appointments, letters, housing and health issues.

You can text or e-mail the TPA to find out more about the Deaf Duty drop in. The TPA can also offer support outside of the drop in times, just get in touch with them.
