Job Centre Plus

Job Centre Plus is an employment centre run by the Department for Work and Pensions. Trained and experienced staff can help you find work that is suitable for you; this could be full time, part time, permanent or temporary work. They can also provide details on initiatives such as Workchoice and Access to Work that can support you into the workplace, and help you to find appropriate job vacancies, that match your knowledge, skills and experiences.

The staff at Job Centre Plus can also advise on benefits and on what help and support is available if you cannot work.

Disability Employment Advisers (DEAs)

Disability Employment Advisers are specialist staff at Job Centre Plus who can offer help and support on work-related issues facing people with disabilities and their carers. They also work with employers to promote employment and support of people with disabilities.

Pure Employment

Pure Innovations is a local charity that works to promote independence for disabled and disadvantaged people. They help to ensure creative and high quality supported employment in a variety of settings with the aim of encouraging and supporting people to look at what skills they have and what they can rather than what they can’t do.

Every client is allocated an Employment Officer who works to remove the barriers to employment through the implementation of a unique and innovative development plan. We believe that anyone who wants to work can work, provided they receive the right support.

They providing a person-centred approach and their ‘Job Match’ is a hugely successful process that identifies appropriate jobs for the individual. They help build self-assurance and competency and offer comprehensive support and guidance to the employer and the candidate. Over time, this is slowly removed as the jobseeker grows into the role and starts to feel at home in their new place of work.
