Day care services
What service is available?
Day care services are offered to people who are not able to get out by themselves and would like some support with their personal or practical care. This service offers more support than a normal day centre provides and is usually available in a residential home, community or resource centre.
Personal care issues such as going to the toilet, help with washing or bathing and being reminded to take medication are all provided by professional staff. Throughout the day you will have hot meals and drinks and there will be an opportunity to take part in leisure and craft activities and to socialise with other people.
Who is eligible for day care?
Day care is available for anyone 18 years old or over who lives in Stockport and requires help because of sight or hearing loss, frailty or illness or physical or learning disabilities, or mental health issues.
You can now check if you may be eligible to receive support from Adult Social Care using the online eligibility checker tool.

What is the cost?
The amount you pay will depend on how often you want to use the day care service. The cost for one full day session including meals is £33.20.
Is there help available with the cost?
To see if you qualify for financial help, we will help you to fill out a financial assessment form.
