Age UK Stockport's Wellcheck Service
This service offers information to people aged 50 and over about services that could be available to maintain or improve their quality of life.
The service was developed with support from Stockport
Council to fill an important gap for those people aged 50
and over who need some help but are not eligible for social care
support.
Wellcheck can provide information, advice and a range of
services to enable people to remain in control of their own lives
and to access lower level services. This is done on a one-to-one
basis, mostly through home visits to enable people to
think about and deal with issues in the security of their own home,
and with family around if they choose. Information can also be
provided over the phone or by post. Workers can also direct or
refer people to other Age UK Stockport services or other agencies
as required.

- Shopping solutions
- Pensions and benefits
- Social opportunities and help with transport
- Accident prevention
- Equipment and adaptations
