Stockport Credit Union Limited is a 'not for profit' community savings and loans cooperative, which is owned and controlled by its members. Managing your Money Project

This scheme, operated by Age UK Stockport, provides financial advice and helps older people avoid financial difficulties through the use of appropriate services and products. It is specifically aimed at older people who have difficulties managing money, whether it is problems opening a bank account, debt advice, budgeting or claiming benefits. In addition to information and advice, practical support with filling in forms, writing cheques and applying for bank accounts or debit/credit cards. Staff also liaise with other organisations and will make home visits to people who are unable to get out and about. The ultimate aim of the project is to enable people to make the most of their money and importantly, gain control of their finances. Age UK also offer a whole range of products and services tailor-made for the over 50s.
