Help is on hand for smokers who want to give up.

Lifestyles Services - Stop Smoking Service

This is a free, confidential service that offers support and advice to any smoker who is registered with a GP in Stockport or who works in Stockport and would like to give up.

A team of trained stop smoking advisors provide both one-to-one support and informal group sessions. The service can also give information on stop smoking support offered by local doctors and pharmacists. With a central location and clinics out and about in the community, a comprehensive range of information leaflets and appointments available six days a week including evenings and Saturdays, it is flexible enough to suit commuters and shoppers alike who want help to give up smoking. Practical help is there for people wanting to give up smoking, including access to nicotine replacement therapies, such as patches and gum, and Zyban or Champix. Telephone support is there for people who don't want to have regular appointments.

The NHS Smoking Helpline operates seven days a week, from 7am to 11pm. Learn about local NHS stop smoking services, get telephone support at home, find out about the different nicotine replacement products. Phone 0800 169 0 169.
