Community Drug Team

The Community Drug Team (CDT) is a specialist service for those aged 26 and over, supporting people who misuse both illegal and prescribed drugs.

Blood-borne Viruses
Vaccinations for both Hepatitis A and B are available for those who inject drugs. The CDT also provides blood-borne virus screening and advice on how to reduce the risk of contracting these viruses.

Needle Exchange
Clean needles and injecting equipment are available at the CDT's needle exchange as well as confidential advice on safer injecting and reducing the chances of infection.

Pregnancy and Sexual Health
The CDT can offer special support to pregnant drug users.

Detoxification
The CDT offers the option of detoxification, either at home or by accessing an in-patient unit in hospital. The option of a referral to a residential rehabilitation service is also available.
