Concessionary Travel Pass
The National Concessionary Travel Scheme gives free off-peak travel on buses.
The pass can be used anywhere in England between 9.30am and
11pm, Monday to Friday, and all day at weekends and public
holidays. You can use the pass before 9.30am but, from 3rd April
2011, you will be charged the normal adult fare.
Residents of Greater Manchester can also travel free travel on
Metrolink and local rail services.
Who can get one?
The age of eligibility for women will be their pensionable age,
and for men it will be the pensionable age of a woman born on the
same day.

below to work out the date of eligibility for
the concessionary travel pass - but remember to use it for
these purposes you should enter your gender as female, even if you
are male.

Application forms are available from Stockport Bus Station. You
will need to take with you:
- A passport-sized, colour photograph;
- Proof of your age. This must be either your birth certificate,
medical card, passport or driving licence;
- Proof of where you live. This must be a utility bill or bank
statement dated in the last six months or a local council tax bill
dated in the last twelve months.
You can also enjoy the pass and free travel if you have a
physical or learning disability, are registered partially sighted,
are profoundly or severely deaf, or would be refused a driving
licence under Section 92 of the Road Traffic Act 1998.
Concession Plus
For disabled people who qualify, a Concession Plus
pass allows free travel on buses, the Metrolink and local
trains at all times in Greater Manchester. It also allows free
travel on local buses elsewhere in England between 9.30am and
11pm Monday to Friday, and all day at weekends and on public
holidays.
