Micro Businesses
Could you run your own Micro Business?
Do you run your own business or do you have a burning business
idea that you want to explore? Would your service stick out from
the crowd and would it support people to lead an independent life?
If so, then we want to hear from you!
Stockport Council is supporting Micro Businesses to provide
services to people with a social care need.
What are Micro Businesses?
Micro Businesses are organisations with five or less full time
equivalent staff or volunteers. They supply a variety of services
to people from homemade food to dance classes, and music lessons to
gardening services. But they can also supply more traditional
social care type services.
Why Micro Businesses?
Stockport Council wants to build a varied market of services for
people who take control of what care they receive. We see Micro
Businesses as just one way to help grow that market to offer real
choice to people as they choose to control their own budgets.
