Who can go there?
These specialist day centres are open to people over 18 with a
learning or physical disability, or with sight or hearing loss.
We can offer you help and advice on what day
centres are available to meet your needs but if you need support
from Adult Social Care we will need to carry out an assessment.
What is an assessment?
After the assessment we will identify and agree your needs with
you and discuss the support available to meet them, according to
the seriousness of your situation.

There will be some cost but the actual amount you pay will
depend on what services you receive.
Can I get help with the cost?
It is possible. We will help you fill out a financial assessment
form to see if you qualify for financial help. To get a rough idea

Do you want more choice and control?
We may provide or arrange services for you but if you want more
choice and control over your own money and what you spend it on
then there a number of way that we can support you to do this. You
can choose to:
- Buy your own support using money given to you
- Ask us to arrange the support you need
- Keep getting the same support as you do now
- Have a mix of these.

We will encourage you to arrange your own transport. If you find

How to get in touch
The Adult Social Care Team is the first point of contact for all
referrals and general enquiries. You can contact them from 8am to
6pm, Monday to Friday on 0161 217 6029.
When you contact us we'll discuss your situation over the phone
and possibly arrange a visit to your home to work out with you the
day centre that will be most suitable for you.
