Sheltered housing
There are a number of sheltered and supported housing schemes in Stockport. These are ideal for older people who wish to live independently, in comfort and security with the opportunity to socialise and get involved with leisure activities when they choose.
The accommodation is self-contained with one
or two bedrooms and a lounge, or a bed-sitting room, kitchen and
bathroom facilities. Most properties have a Scheme Manager to
ensure the smooth running of the building and support the residents
where possible. For added peace of mind, there is a 24 hour alarm
service that enables residents to summon help in an emergency. This
is monitored by the Scheme manager or, when they are not on duty,
by CareCall who provide a mobile warden response 24 hours a day,
365 days a year.
The sheltered accommodation owned by
Stockport Council is managed by Stockport Homes and other
properties in Stockport are managed by other local Housing
Associations, or Registered Social Landlords (RSLs). Follow the
link below for the contact details of these organisations.
